mental wellbeing

Have you ever looked at your life and felt like it is worthless?

Many times life throws challenges and stressful situations at us. It tears us down.

But do you know that if we look at our disappointments from a positive aspect, we will find something good?

The desire to live a good, classy and rich life is something most of us desire-it comes with a price to pay.

How many of us will pay that price?

Living in a leafy suburb away from the noises, driving the latest car brand in town, and spending weekends on the coast is a dream life too. A rough estimate of that life will cost you a fortune, or rather, an arm and a leg.

The above example is a dream that leads to people living beyond their means. It is about keeping up with the Joneses. Young middle-class men and women are doing everything possible to push themselves to the standards of that colleague at work or an old age mate who got married to a mzungu and now lives a cozy life.

self love

Once we accept our life as it is, then we will be on the journey to healing. Life hits us hard and we feel like we are stuck forever. We self-pity and beat ourselves down. That is when anxiety, stress, and depression find their way into our lives and we think about suicide. Suicide? Let us not even go there.

One of the major mental illnesses is depression. Depression is a mental illness brought about by causes such as.

  • Losing your source of livelihood
  • Being in a flawed relationship
  • Toxic work environment
  • Seclusion by family
  • Facing a breakup or divorce
  • Discovering you have an illness
  • Staying without a job for a long time
  • Losing someone to death

Have you faced any of the above circumstances in your life? How did you handle it?

believe in youself

It is time to get unstuck…

So, what is self-love? Self-love is choosing to support your physical, mental, and spiritual growth.

The bible in Psalms 27:3 (KJV) says,

“Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.”

Once we learn to love ourselves genuinely and unconditionally, then negative thoughts will never dominate our path. I am not saying you will not have negative thoughts.

No! All I am saying is that negative thoughts will never influence your path. The positive thoughts you harbor will overpower them.

Learn to pray and trust God to help you overcome your misgivings.

We serve a faithful God who is ready to fight for us in every battle we face, no matter the magnitude.

Choose life,

choose to speak to someone who cares.
